De XGB is de halogeenvrije standaardkabel voor vaste elektrische installaties in gebouwen. Waar rook- en gasontwikkeling bij brand kritisch is, vervangt hij de klassieke XVB. Athilex levert 85 varianten uit voorraad, van 1,5 tot 300 mm², vanuit België, Nederland en Frankrijk.

D.1Wat is het verschil tussen XGB en XVB?

Beide zijn 0,6/1 kV-installatiekabels met dezelfde kerntoepassing. Het verschil zit in de mantel: XGB is halogeenvrij (LSZH) en produceert bij brand nauwelijks rook en geen corrosieve gassen, terwijl XVB een pvc-mantel heeft. In openbare gebouwen en overal waar mensen moeten kunnen evacueren, is XGB daarom de veiligere keuze.

D.2Mag een XGB-kabel ondergronds geplaatst worden?

Ja, mits mechanische bescherming: plaats de kabel in een buis of kabelgoot. Voor rechtstreekse begraving zonder buis kiest u beter een kabel die daarvoor ontworpen is, zoals de RZ1-K of EXVB.

D.3Welke brandklasse heeft de XGB?

De XGB draagt CPR-brandklasse Cca-s1,d2,a1: beperkte vlamuitbreiding, zeer lage rookontwikkeling (s1) en geen zure gassen (a1). Daarmee voldoet hij aan de eisen voor de meeste utiliteits- en woonprojecten in België.
